Statement of Rates for Private Works
Section 67 of the Local Government Act, 1993 empowers councils to undertake works on private land.
Council is required to fix an amount, or rate, for the carrying out of the works after considering the actual cost of performing the work and the current market rates relevant to such works. If the amount for which, or the rate at which, it proposes to carry out the works is less than the amount or rate so fixed, the decision to carry out the work is made by resolution of the Council at an open meeting before the work is carried out.
Council reserves the right to adjust the rates when tendering for private work.
