Donations and Sponsorship

Last modified: November 19, 2009 - 10:17 PM

Murray Shire Council offers donations and sponsorship to assist local groups and events that benefit the community.

Donations

Council considers a donation to be the provision of funds to a worthwhile community group without the expectation of receiving a return on the investment. Donation requests should be submitted in writing and address to the General Manager. These requests are assessed by either the General Manager or the Councillors at monthly Council meetings.

Sponsorship

A sponsorship is an agreement between Council and a community group where assistance is provided in cash or in-kind on the basis that some corporate benefit will be received by Council. This beneift is usually the publicity enjoyed by Council as a result of being the sponsor of a positive community event. Sponsorship requests should be submitted in writing and address to the General Manager. These requests are assessed by the Councillors at monthly Council meetings.

Please be aware that donations and sponsorship requests take time to be processed. It is important to ensure that your request is received by Council early enough to be processed and responded to before your event.
